Idiot's Delight at Bushnell Park

It would be be easy to laugh at the several dozen morons who are now wandering around Bushnell Park complaining about the free market system of speech and economics which allows them to sit in from of the TV and pine for Rachel Maddow.

Instead, we should all be quietly weeping inside. These economic Luddites, scruffy and spoiled college students, union slackers who have the paid pensions long lunch hours to chant the predictable lines about "fairness," "paying one's fair share" and "economic justice."

The liberals have lost the argument and the narrative. Now they are resigned to talk to each other and allow their lone allies in public discourse - the traditional media - to hang on every word and dutifully report it. The Courant ran two pictures Tuesday of several street artists parading down Wall Street in zombie attire - as if that was truly newsworthy.

Newspapers now are reduced to simply documenting what happens within their hapless gaze. There are no stories about the ruinous policies of the administration, or the pain business owners now endure to keep their doors open nor investigatory pieces on those who are abusing government handouts at the corporate or the personal level.

No - its all about street theater. When thousands of Tea Party supporters streamed onto the State Capitol campus, there were ho hums from the press. But you put a couple of dozen shirkers together and its Page One.

No wonder circulation is down everywhere. No one is buying it.
